Is There An Instrument Right For Kids?
Getting your child to learn how to play an instrument is a really good idea to take on. In my opinion this really doesn’t matter if you cannot teach them yourself because you are taking the time and effort to get them lessons and music is a really good way to get a child’s mind active and to help them build skills.
Recorder
This one is learn by children all over the world when they are in first school and they learn it thorough their music classes. This instrument is by no means a hard one to have to learn but it can still be hard on a child and the best thing to do is to sit with them to help them learn the notes and practice some of the songs that they are studying, by doing this you are really showing an interest.
Bringing the flute into a child who is all over the place all of the time and very active is not a good idea at all. A drum kit would not be a good idea for something like this either because it would be too loud, go for something like the saxophone or the trumpet because they are halfway between the two, by no means are they easy instruments to learn.
Instruments that are out there for children that really do want to learn or have already played something else include the harp and the violin. Other than this expect a quiet child to really enjoy an instrument such as this one.
Guitars and other things like banjos are for children in the middle of both of the above categories as they can be both loud (electric guitars) or very quiet with the acoustic varieties. If you are still very insure on what type of instrument your child would like to play then the best thing to do is sit them down and ask them what they think.
Nine times out of ten it is best to speak to the child on matters like this one.
